Snack Bar Cook
**Purpose and Scope:** The Snack Bar Cook is responsible for the preparation of all menu options in accordance with preplanned menus within established budgets and in compliance with government and management directives. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF). **Essential Responsibilities:** + Prepare and cook the quantity of food required according to the menu and the number of customers orders. + Gather, combine, prepare, bake, or cook a variety of foods such as meat, seafood, poultry, fruits, vegetables, soups, sauces, gravies, salads, breads, and deserts as determined by menus or management. + Use commercial cooking equipment and all associated cooking utensils. + Ensure that the work area is safe, clean and sanitary at all times. + Assist in cleaning kitchen work and serving areas before, during and after each meal. + Ensure compliance all applicable standards, policies, and regulations. + Maintain accountability of customers and property. + Adhere to safety practices. + Maybe required to use a Point-of-Sale system. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** + One (1) year experience as a cook in a food service operation such as restaurant or similar food activity. + Must have knowledge of principles and characteristics of food, food safety and sanitation standards, food preparation skillsets, and progressive cooking strategies/techniques to ensure entire meal is prepared and cooked on time yet preserving its quality and freshness for the customer. + Must be able to perform yield adjustments to standardized recipes. + Must have current ServSafe certification at all times. + High school diploma or equivalent training/experience. + Ability to read and write English is required. + Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills. + Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team. + Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment. + Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN). + Possess a valid passport from their country have ability to obtain any visa required. + Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment. + Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** + Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies. + Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds. + Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. + Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. + Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions. + Ability to travel domestically and internationally. **OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES** **Safety** - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
