**Overview** We are seeking reliable and motivated individuals to join our on-call snow removal team for the winter season at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. The Snow Removal Specialist will be responsible for clearing snow from designated areas using hand shovels, gas-powered snowblowers, and applying ice melt. This is a seasonal position, with work opportunities during heavy snowfalls throughout the winter months. Key Responsibilities: - Shovel snow from walkways, entrances, and other necessary areas. - Operate gas-powered snowblowers to clear larger surfaces. - Apply salt and ice melt to prevent hazardous conditions. - Work safely in cold, windy, and snowy weather conditions. - Respond within one hour of being called for a snow removal event. Qualifications: - Prior experience in snow removal is helpful but not required. - Must be able to obtain an airport security badge. - Ability to lift 50 lbs and walk in strenuous, cold conditions. - Must be reliable and able to respond quickly to calls on a first-come, first-serve basis. Work Environment: - Work will take place outdoors in extreme cold, snow, and wind. - Equipment (gas-powered snowblowers, hand shovels, ice melt) and uniforms will be provided. - All necessary safety gear will be issued by the company. Schedule & Availability: - This is a seasonal role during the winter months. - On-call availability is required during snowfalls, with a response time of one hour after being contacted. - Calls will be made via telephone, and work will be offered to the first to respond.
