Position Overview

The Snowflake Database Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Snowflake databases. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Snowflake architecture and be able to troubleshoot complex issues.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop secure access to objects in Snowflake with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).Optimize databases' performance, security, and reliability within the Snowflake Data Cloud platform.Setup and manage virtual warehouses.Extensive experience in Query Tuning.Use data replication for data sharing across accounts and for failover scenarios.Setup framework to share data securely both within and outside the organization.Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery procedures.Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Snowflake users.Stay up to date on the latest Snowflake features and best practices.Integrate Snowflake with various data sources and third-party tools.Troubleshoot issues related to Snowflake implementations.Experience in supporting/developing ETL workload.Recommend the Snowflake best practices for management, monitoring, and optimization.Experience of working Azure and AWS Cloud.Sizing and capacity projections for the platform.Design and CI/CD and other Deployment.Experience in setting up and maintaining Snowflake container services

What You’ll Bring to Zelis

Requirements:

Minimum of 8+ years’ overall data engineering experience:Snowflake Data Platform AdministrationCloud Platform Experience: Azure/AWS

Preferred Skills:

Snowflake Certification.ETL tool to include any of the following: Azure Data Factory; DBT; Informatica; Matillion; Talend; SSISDesign and development of data marts in Snowflake preferredWorking knowledge of Azure/AWS Architecture, Data Lake,Business analysis experience to analyze data to write code and drive solutionsKnowledge of: GitHub, Airflow, Agile, Jira, and ConfluenceWorking knowledge on Erwin for data modellingIndependence/ Accountability:Requires minimal daily supervisionReceives detailed instruction on new assignments and determines next steps with guidanceRegularly reviews goals and objectives with supervisorDemonstrates competence in relevant job responsibilities which allows for increasing level of independenceAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasksAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesProblem Solving:Makes logical suggestions of likely causes of problems and independently suggests solutionsExcellent organizational skills are required to prioritize responsibilities, thus completing work in a timely fashionOutstanding ability to multiplex tasks as requiredExcellent project management and/or business analysis skills.Attention to detail and concern for impact is essential
