Overview Bring your passion for skiing! Base wages PLUS a seasonal loyalty bonus! Summit Masters Race Coaches, ARC Coaches and Race Crewski will be help provide a memorable ski racing experience for our guest. Including but not limited to, welcoming people at the meeting place, guiding the learning and race-day experience, highlighting the racers’ successes throughout the lesson and inviting them back as the training is completing. Come work and play at Seattle’s home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is lots to do all year long. Responsibilities Job duties may include, but are not limited to: Effectively communicate with internal partners, leaders, colleagues and external guests, as appropriate. Identify guest interests using our terrain based and/or skill based levels, a conversational understanding of their background as well as their expectations for the programming they purchased. Help cover as many of the training and race days (peak business demand days) as possible. Facilitate your employee activation and separation processes by following the SnowSports School’s and Race Department’s guidelines. Follow uniform guidelines when wearing and caring for your uniform as outlined in the employee guide. Actively assess your own skills and seek feedback and guidance from others that can support your development. Support the SnowSports School and Race Department sales by learning, understanding and being able to explain ARC, Masters products, etc. Assist the SnowSports School in race related activities. Enthusiastically teach our programming from start to finish. Identify and evaluate guest experiences and share valuable insights with your leaders. Qualifications What we are looking for: High School or GED certificate preferred; passion for the alpine winter environment, teaching and snow sports experience preferred. Ski racing experience and USSA Membership and Certification as a Coach and/or Official is preferred. Capable and committed to becoming a Coach or Crewski associate. Ability to learn, evolve, adapt and change as a Coach, Crewski and snow sports athlete. Ability to guide quality snow sports experiences for guests, time and time again. Coaches should hold USSA Certification – (Levels 100, 200, 300) Crewski should hold USSA Official’s Certification – (Chief of Race, Referee, Race Administrator, Timing & Calculation, Race Advisor, Chief of Course, Technical Delegate). Wage and Benefit Info: Base Wage Dependent Upon Certifications: from $17.50 to $22.00 Certs/Dual Discipline Hourly Stipend: from $0.25 to $1.00 Accreditations Hourly Stipends: from $0.50 to $1.50 Tenure >1 year - Hourly Stipend: from $0.50 to $2.50 Product Incentives - hourly/student: from $0.75 to $8.00 End of Season loyalty bonus: 5% of Gross Wages This is a non-benefited role. All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff). All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
