Job Description

Responsibilities

Manage regular control blocks in the ERP system.Review and classify imports/exports as per Japan regulations.Monitor and review customer accounts and opportunities in the ERP system to conduct “know your customer” and other due diligence programs.Find opportunities for improvements to the existing way of working through process enhancements and automation.Develop connections with vital business collaborators in MSD Japan.Manage relationships with and the performance of Import/Export brokers.Assist and support the APAC Regional Manager to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk through periodic audits and assessments.Support other compliance priorities in the APJ region as needed.

Requirements

Degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, or related studies.At least 4 years of experience in a similar capacity.Proven knowledge of international trade regulations, including import/export controls, customs regulations, trade agreements, and restricted party screenings.High ethical standards and a continuous improvement approach.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with cross-functional teams and share trade compliance requirements with collaborators.Knowledge of CRM, QAD, and MS Office preferred.
