Join our team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Skilled Nursing unit is now hiring a Full-Time CNA II (PM) to work at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department is an 18 bed unit in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. Opportunities to work with the geriatric population as well as rehab for many other needs including surgical, neuro, cardiac and more. Employees in this units report directly to the Director of SNU. Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
Performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Documents patient interactions as needed. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Job Responsibilities include:
Assists in the admission of patients to the Nursing Unit.Assists assigned patients with activities of daily living.Provides patient care as assigned in accordance with patients' needs and LMC policyDemonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Ensures emergencies are immediately and appropriately addressed according to LMC policy and procedure. Participates in organizational and professional activities. Required: Current and valid Texas Nurse Aide Registry by the Texas Department of Human Services.Required: BLS; Must be completed prior to patient contact.Preferred: High school graduate or equivalent preferred or experience.Preferred: 1-2 years Nursing home or long term care experience.2 Letters of RecommendationMust successfully pass any pre-employment
