We are looking for an experienced leader to drive our SoC Architecture and Specification work and lead the team of architects and specialists in the world of telecommunications and SoCs. SoC’s are the heart of the Nokia products, and they play an important part of Nokia’s next-generation technologies.
SoC Architecture and Specification (A&S) department is a key in the success, with vision to define and drive best in class architectures, SoC and IP contents for the Nokia Mobile Network SoCs.

Managing the SoC architectures and interfaces, including requirements. Executing system design work for future IPs, SoCs, and technologies. Driving towards execution via the SoC feature screening technical phases. Executing Technology Development projects to cover longevity and development for IP roadmap purpose. Maintaining SoC IP roadmap, and related system design. Participating and supporting SoC technology strategy and technology roadmap development. Working with selected key technology partners. Organizing SoC architect(s) per SoC device and need to lead technical work in SoC projects. Working in close co-operation with SoC program execution, Platform Product management as well as other RAN DU and BU entities and research and customer operation teams. Owning A&S specific processes to support timely interaction and co-operation.You have:
15+ years of background from development of wireless/telecom systems.Demonstrated drive and skill in architecture and specification definition of Base station SoCs, or in similar signal processing systems development.Superb understanding of the wireless SoC design, algorithm, specification, architecture, modelling and Low level SW design as well as related processes, with interest to continue to enhance this knowledge.Clear understanding of the SoC and related IP development (ASSP, CSSP, ASIC or FPGA)Successful contributions to strategy and roadmap decisions, tied to solving to business needs. Proven record of leading an expert organization.People management experience in project, team or organization scope.Pro-activity and independent problem solving through own experience and network, including interest in actively driving topics.Ability to steer meetings and decision forums in a compelling direction.Will and skill to drive and present both technical and coordination content to stakeholder networks, with ability to engage as early as possible, and with crisp messages.Ability to make business-based decisions about technical content.You are able to communicate and drive topics between organizations, and secure common goals with technical and business driven needs. Good coaching and mentoring skills.Fluent verbal communication and writing skills in English language. M.Sc. in engineering or computer science.It would be nice if you also had:
Experience on platform based development with asset reuse and feature driven development and requirement management in the area.Experience with analytical design exploration and validation, in best case based on static or dynamic modelling techniques. Are responsible for organization setup, steering, development, people management and engagement. You're a solid line manager for direct reports Will define clear scope, mission and department targets with team and SoC LT support, and set performance measurements. You enable the teams to work and deliver according to set targets.Are responsible to drive SoC architecture and content planning together with colleagues and stakeholder teamsSecure Budget (CAPEX/OPEX) plan and execution for the department.Are ensuring that global and our own processes and standards are met within the department, e.g. in terms of developing and following uniform processes, tools and ways of working.Are accountable for following-up and meeting DoD, or defining ones where unclear.Owns A&S Mode of operation and are accountable for organization to execute accordingly.Secure organization Head Count planning, allocation and commitments with 1st line managers.Are accountable to manage needed tools, HW and management of external labour when needed.Support operational teams to operate efficiently, removing roadblocks and impediments by providing/allocating the needed objectives, measurements and appropriate resources, tools and processes.Communicate efficiently within your own organization, as well as with stakeholders.Are able to build sustainable relationships with the A&S teams in the Platform as well as in the RAN, L1 SW and L2 SW organizations and product management.
