The Infrastructure group is responsible for building and maintaining the components, tools, and systems that make up the Power, Z, Quantum Controls and Circuit Technologies. We are a large team spread across the world with a wide array of specialties and projects, working on everything from power management to silicon design.

As a member of our IBM Chip Development team, you will have the opportunity to work with world-class talent to develop our next-generation silicon powering our IBM Z and POWER Systems. As an SoC IP Integration Senior Technical Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the integration of design IP into our silicon chips used in our next-generation IBM Systems offerings.
In this role you will make technical contributions to and provide leadership for the integration of design IP into IBM’s SoC and microprocessor designs. Lead the integration of a wide variety of design IP including elements such as PCIe and LPDDR which include both hard and soft IP design components. The integration of these IP elements into IBM’s chip designs requires deep technical expertise in integration as well as many other design disciplines and design processes. For example, an essential aspect of IP integration is the co-design and partnership with EDA, design processes and methodologies. To achieve design requirements and ensure quality, in addition to deep technical engagement, technical leadership is also required to drive communication and direction across many disciplines within the development team.
This role will leverage deep expertise in I/O design, integration, industry and IBM design methodologies. Successful candidates will have gained IP integration experience through multiple projects and have demonstrated the multi-disciplinary skills as well as technical leadership to drive IP integration design activities and resolution of issues to deliver successful SoC and microprocessor designs.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* 10+ years of experience in the computer chip development industry.
* Extensive experience with IP integration in multiple projects
* Deep IP integration skills across multiple design disciplines.
* Experience in project management with teams across multiple locations and geographies
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
* 20+ years of experience in the computer chip development industry.
* Experience in both IBM and industry chip design processes.
* Technical and personnel management experience.
* Understanding of Agile development processes.
