Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking Tools Developer. The Developer is responsible for supporting the monitoring tools used by the Systems Operation Center (SOC) at a major National Laboratory provides 24x7x365 monitoring of IT resources to quickly detect and respond to issues, minimizing downtime and impact on operations and projects. It monitors thousands of classified and unclassified computing elements, using a suite of Monitoring Tools to analyze conditions and detect issues such as application outages, router interface loss, slow web response times, and server resource thresholds. The SOC team initiates quick responses to events, minimizing potential damage or loss of service while keeping customers informed.

 

As a SOC Tools Developer, the candidate will administer systems used to provide monitoring or context to monitoring data such as a software discovery system. Duties include installations, administration, patching, response and resolution to detected system vulnerabilities, and data/system integration requirements and other duties assigned.

Responsibilities Interact frequently with application end users, mission customers and key stakeholders throughout National LabsDefine requirements for software solutionsDevelop code bases in Python, JavaScript, Java, and/or .NET developmentDevelop code in various frame works such as SeleniumDevelop code with relational and non-related databases, such as SQL, OracleDB, MSSQL and MongoDBAutomating code and CI/CD in Docker and Kubernetes or similar tools with DevSecOpsResolve incidents that impact security operations through a ticketing system, such as ServiceNowImplement event management system configurations for enterprise monitoring, such as in EntuityDocument requirements and plans to meet company and team objectivesDeploy and manage software systems across network hostsGenerate reports for data visualizationMaintain systems that require 24/7 activityPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, in lieu of degree 8 years of job related experience is rquired.Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level clearancePython, C#, Java, and JavaScriptSoftware solution integrationLarge system development with established code basesSoftware development for Windows and Linux platformsUI designConfiguration ManagementHigh-volume data managementData visualizationSystem administration
