We are looking for a Brand Manager to join the Channel 5 Marketing team. The Channel 5 Marketing team is responsible for promoting the Channel 5 portfolio of channels, showcasing the best content available and challenging the current content perceptions, delivering campaigns that build reputation and reach. We are a dynamic and energetic team and sit at the heart of what Channel 5 is all about – great TV. This role is a key position within the Channel 5 marketing team and requires someone with a strong knowledge of broadcasting to continue building on the channel’s success. 

The Brand Manager will help to develop ambitious, innovative, and effective 360 marketing campaigns that drive ratings, brand awareness and commercial success. You will have a proven track record of planning and implementing 360 marketing campaigns to deadline and to budget, overseeing the production and delivery of all off-channel marketing materials. You will also lead on the strategy and development of wider marketing projects in your own right, as defined by the Senior Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing. The successful candidate will need to communicate effectively and work closely with internal stakeholders, e.g. creative, PR, digital, Channel Heads and commissioning as well as external agencies and stakeholders, as well as leading cross functional teams to deliver 360 campaigns.  

A deep knowledge of how our marketing should reach and appeal to a specific audience is a must, with a commitment to consistently understanding our audience’s media habits, as well as insights into their relationships, aspirations, concerns, relationships, and interests. You will have a strong interest and knowledge of Commercial TV and content marketing, as well as proven knowledge of and interest in the biggest shows on Channel 5 and the family of channels. We all love television at Channel 5 and are looking for someone who shares this passion. 

 

What will you be doing? 

Shaping, reviewing and approving assets created by internal teams and external agencies, ensuring all marketing output is in line with brand values and aligns with campaign briefs 

Crafting title, brand and campaign launch plans that drive awareness and measurable impact 

Completing paid campaign builds, review and identifying optimisation opportunities (cross-platform) 

Working with Senior Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing to develop and deliver strategic 360 marketing campaigns, working with cross-functional peer teams to deliver across paid, owned and earned channels.  

Taking the lead on and own marketing projects from brief stage to the campaign going live.  

Writing brilliant briefs and presentations and able to communicate well to a variety of stakeholders at all levels.  

Reviewing and approve assets created by internal teams and external agencies, ensuring all marketing output is in line with brand values and aligns with campaign briefs.  

Analysis and recommendation on paid media plans, working with Senior Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing to create effective marketing campaigns.  

Creating post campaign analysis on all 360 marketing campaigns.  

Supporting Marketing Executive, assisting them in day-to-day task and guiding them through on-air campaign management.  

Acting as the go-to point of contact for external agencies working across paid projects.

Working with a self-starting approach, taking the initiative to identify ideas/projects/improvements before being given direction. 

An understanding of the longer-term, more strategic brand targets and how they impact the business.  

A love of television.
