Social Media Executive Communications Manager
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. + 7 years of work experience in executive communications, social media or communications. Preferred qualifications: + Experience working closely with leaders on the social media and executive communications. + Ability to be active on social media and know the latest trends and best practices. + Ability to stay up-to-date on the latest news and conversations. + Ability to translate technical topics into well-written content. + Ability to be detail oriented and work with urgency on short deadlines, and be available in evenings and on weekends as needed. + Excellent communication with editing skills and attention to detail. As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs editorial team, you will write and edit content that is true to the Google voice, in its many forms. You will work closely with Google executives and their teams to write and edit speeches, op-eds and blog posts that span the entire company--including product areas, regions, corporate news and the fun stuff in between! We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them simply. You will also have the opportunity to come up with new ideas for content, uncover engaging stories and flex your creativity wherever needed. The mission of the Executive, Editorial and Internal Comms team within Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) is to help external audiences understand our products and company, help Googlers feel pride in our strategy, protect and project our culture, and enable confident and connected leaders. We are a team of storytellers including writers, editors, executive and internal communications practitioners, designers, media relations whizzes, content creators, and social media experts. In this role, you will help Google leaders communicate directly with our most important audiences across social media channels, as well as expand the channels where they have a social presence. As part of the Central Communications team in GCPA, you will work across PAs and functions for stories and suggest creative ways to tell them. It's our job to help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed here, you'll combine creativity with organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously, as well as enjoy pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators, or producing internal communications and events for our employees. Things happen quickly at Google and to get stuff done here you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally and isn't hesitant to take risks or try new things. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
