STATUS:                   Non-Exempt, FT, 40 hours per week

PAY:                         $19.00/hour

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Detail oriented and attention detail. Self-starter, takes initiative. Team player. Strong use of the English language in verbal and written communication. Excellent telephone skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure. Ability to work with a diverse population. Ability to adhere to TSA policy and procedure. Ability to maintain client confidentiality. Ability to adhere to mandatory reporting requirements. Customer service mindset with a compassionate approach to serving those in need. Demonstrate knowledge of general warehouse and food storage/handling procedures for safety requirements. Demonstrate knowledge of basic clerical work (i.e. alphabetizing, filing, creating new files as needed, preparing correspondence). Current food handler’s card, or obtain one within 30 days of hire. Must complete and adhere to Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including the ability to pass a TSA background check. Must have a valid Drivers License and be able to pass internal online driver safety course upon hire. 

 

SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:

Required: Microsoft Office Required: Knowledge of and practice using email operating system. Working knowledge of integrated database application and ability to use new software programs with basic training.

 

SCOPE OF POSITION:

This position operates under the direct supervision of the Corps Officer, and is a key role in the operation of several Basic Assistance and Corps Programs of the Everett Corps. There are 2 primary areas of responsibility for this position: intake and warehouse.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The intake portion of this position will:

Determine new and returning client eligibility. On a daily basis collect client intake forms and enter into Wellsky, ensuring that all data is accurate, timely and properly reported. Build new client files. Gather and help safeguard client information necessary for enrollment. Work within TSA and contract/grant guidelines to make appropriate referrals to the outside agencies ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and documented. Answer phones and take messages.

The warehouse portion of this position will:

Sorting, storing and recoding in-king donations. Keep the warehouse clean and orderly. Label, date and rotate stock. Make daily food bags or boxes. Respectfully lead volunteers to complete program goals. Order food from Food Lifeline, VOA and other food providers. Assist with monthly stats and required reporting. Oversee and supervise volunteers and community service volunteers. Drive occasionally to pick up food or other supplies as needed.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to use stairs, ladders, office and warehouse equipment. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to produce and access information on the computer. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer. Ability to operate standard office equipment (i.e. printer, fax, photocopier, scanner). Ability to understand written information. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.

Health Insurance: Low bi-weekly premiums ($34.62) for employee only coverage, Kaiser HMO for those residing in a Kaiser service area, Anthem EPO/PPO is available for those residing outside of a Kaiser service area.  Voluntary +1 and +family coverage at additional cost.  Delta Dental DHMO and DPPO dental insurance offered starting at $2.31 bi-weekly cost.  Employees are covered by an employer paid life insurance policy.  Voluntary supplemental life, short-term and long-term disability plans are available.

Retirement Plans: Employer-funded Money Purchase Pension Plan (Defined Contribution Plan) 50% vested at 5 years eligible service time, employee funded voluntary 403(b) options

Parental Leave: Benefit will be one week (5 business days) of paid leave at the employee’s normal rate of pay for births, adoptions and foster placements.

Sick Leave: 12 days annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after 3 months’ service time. 

Paid Vacation: 2 weeks annually accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions. 4 weeks annually accruing from day one, for exempt positions. Accrued vacation eligible for use after 6 months’ service time.

Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
