Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a SOCIAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN in the FLEET AND FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER of COMFLEACT SASEBO. "This position is eligible for ad-hoc/situational telework at the discretion of management." Responsibilities You will maintain accurate information for prospective gains and new arrivals to the overseas community, developing accurate materials for Sponsors, providing guidance and benefit information to assist personnel and their families. You will provide direct customer service for internal and external customers involved in relocation, to include analyzing and streamlining procedures to improve the initial adjustment to the new overseas environment. You will prepare a wide variety of information relevant to adjusting to the overseas environment, to include maps and directions to local areas of interest. You will maintain relocation resource library, periodically updating information on military installations worldwide. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing relocation services (e.g. workshops, briefings, database of local/host nation/base activities, maps/directions, etc.) to service members, DoD employees and/or their families as they adjust to the overseas lifestyle. Aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff in such fields as personnel (private or government), employment guidance in a vocational or academic institution, social service, or manpower development. Aid or assistant to professional or associate staff engaged in work of a social services nature in private, public welfare, government program, or community organizations, or in voluntary activities. Aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff working with individuals who are addicted to or abuse alcohol and/or drugs. Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
