Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.As a Social Work Assistant 1 at Capital District Psychiatric Center, you will work with an interdisciplinary team and duties will include: • Interviewing individuals and their families to gather background information• Preparing case histories and determining eligibility for services• Advocating and assisting individuals in identifying and obtaining services Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they have a bachelor’s degree in a human service field and 1 year of social work experience.o Substitution: Master’s degree in social work can substitute for 1 year of specialized experience.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
