DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Social Worker 2, you will primarily be responsible for the coordination and implementation of transitional services at the North Central Secure Treatment Unit (NCSTU). Your focus will be to ensure the facility successfully transitions youth back into their community through leading an active process of discharge planning and establishing aftercare via a network of community-based resources. Other duties include providing specialized, professional counseling and care for the rehabilitation and social development of court-adjudicated delinquent residents in the Youth Development Center/Youth Forestry Camp (YDC/YFC) system. You will supervise the resident group in rehabilitative treatment, education, recreation, and social development programs in accordance with the Department of Human Services; Office of Children, Youth, and Families; Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services Programs; and agency policies. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: + Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment);or + Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare; or + Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare; or + A master's degree in social work or social welfare. + Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
