SOCIAL WORKER

 

I SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide individual, family, and group therapies as indicated as part of the student’s IEP related services, behavioral support, and therapeutic needs.

· Assume the role of advocate counselor for assigned students to assist students in defining goals and utilizing educational and therapeutic supports and services.

· To monitor student adjustment and performance in school classes and residential living.

· To communicate regularly with teachers to enhance their educational interventions and to directly provide behavioral and therapeutic interventions in and out of the classroom as needed

· To act as the liaison for teachers with students and parents.

· To provide immediate support and intervention for all students (Group Residence, Residential Treatment Facility, and Day School programs) struggling or in crisis.

· To actively participate and facilitate youth leadership and youth development programming to include, peer mediation, leadership council and new programs as implemented.

· To participate in intake interviews, admissions, and orientation of new students/residents and complete documentation.

· Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team conferences to formulate and implement an educational and treatment plan. These include Treatment Planning Conferences, Student/Resident Review meetings, Medication Reviews, Team Meetings, CSE Meetings, Open school night, parent teacher conferences etc.

· Maintain up-to-date case records and all required documentation including progress notes, student review reports, Related Services Reports, Educational reports, etc. and

submit in a timely manner. To conduct psychosocial assessment reports and home visits if needed.

· Prepare for and attend supervisory sessions, Department meetings, and required training.

· Performs all duties as assigned

· Administrator; principal designee

 

V. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

· Reports to program director/principal

 

VI. QUALIFICATIONS:

•SW Degree in Social Work, LMSW preferred

•Related experience with adolescents preferred.

•Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver’s license, and fingerprinting as required by the program.

•Compliance with health regulations for physical/Mantoux testing, COVID 19 vaccination

 

 

This position requires successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which includes a written test and demonstration of the competency to perform physical restraints, as specified by the program and regulatory body. Additionally, staff must successfully complete all required TCI refreshers to maintain continued employment.
