Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.

 

 

The Social Worker at the JE and ZB Butler Center for Children and Families at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein is responsible for providing therapy, either in person or via telehealth, for children and adolescents, ages 4-17 using evidenced based, trauma focused and trauma informed modalities and provides crisis intervention and assesses high- risk situations. 

 

The social worker functions as part of a behavioral health team and a larger multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, nurse practitioners and provides consultation to other Montefiore departments and /or community clinics to encourage a trauma- informed approach to abuse and neglect. The social worker will receive training and supervision of all therapy case by a licensed, clinical psychologist.

 

The Social Worker is also responsible for conducting forensic interviews of children suspected of child abuse and maltreatment. Training in Forensic Interviewing using the New York State Best Practices in Forensic Interviewing will be provided as well as ongoing supervision by a trained forensic interviewer.

 

Requirements: Masters in Social Work

New York State LMSW/LCSW license and registration

Diverse Background and Spanish speaking rrequired
