Social Worker MSW- Providence Alaska Medical Center Oncology

The Social Worker MSW provides services to patients/residents and their families/caregivers to meet their social and emotional needs as they relate to their medical diagnoses and concerns. They collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive treatment, recovery, and safe and coordinated transition from one care environment to another. They work to protect and advocate for the rights of patients/residents and ensures that they receive highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each patient. The Social Worker MSW works under the direction of Care Management Leadership and is employed by Providence Health & Services.  The position will practice in accordance with competencies and guidelines outlined in Standards for Social Work Practice in Health Care Settings and the Code of Ethics as defined by the National Association of Social Workers.

Hours: Full-time, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift, 40 Hours Per Week (0800-1630 M-F)

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment. Relocation Assistance available for eligible hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

 

Required qualifications:

Master's Degree in Degree as Social Worker from an accredited School of Social Work. upon hire: Alaska Masters Social Worker License. Or upon hire: Alaska Clinical Social Worker License.

Preferred qualifications:

2 years Medical Social Work experience. Experience with computerized documentation and medical records is preferred at the time of hire.
