Social Worker Supervisor
HANAC, Inc. – originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee – is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.   The program supervisor will supervise staff at a 159-unit HPD Senior Affordable Rental Apartment (SARA) Program for seniors 62+ years of age with low income, some of whom were formerly homeless. Work Schedule: 28 hours per week (T-W-TH-F 10:00 am - 5:00 pm) (PART-TIME ONLY) Rate of pay: $38.31 per hour Location: 1323 Boston Road, Bronx, New York Essential duties include but are not limited to: + Overseeing day-to-day operations of the program and ensuring services are provided where needed. + Guiding staff in regard to mental, emotional, and behavioral health concerns and making referrals   where appropriate; intervening as needed. + Guiding staff in managing emergency situations and intervening when crisis warrants it. + Fostering connections with community providers and informing tenants about services available, including a food pantry and free tax preparation. + Oversee the development of programming to encourage social interaction and form a sense of   community among tenants. + Developing relationships with Property Management staff to better assist tenants with issues as they arise. + Maintaining contact with funding sources and providing a monthly report + Managing annual program budget, payroll for staff, and finding training opportunities for staff. + Ordering supplies as needed + Reviewing staff documentation to ensure accuracy Qualifications: + Must have the following LSW or MSW + 2 - 5 years working directly with clients + Counseling Experience + Ability to meet goals in a timely manner + Ability to work in cooperation with HANAC Extended Care Services + Crisis Intervention Skills. + Ability to document and report all social service contracts and make appropriate referrals + Ability to understand the problems of older adults, minorities, and disadvantaged groups. + Ability to produce documents written in the English language using proper sentences, punctuation, grammar, and spelling. + Willingness to stay current in the field by attending seminars, training, and relevant community events.
