Sociology Project Manager

The Department of Sociology at the University of Virginia is seeking to hire a full-time Project Manager to support a multi-year research project based at the University of Virginia.

The project manager will be responsible for providing administrative support for a research cooperator contract for a federal government agency, including reporting and compliance requirements. They will also assist the team with the planning and administration of research, including scheduling field research trips and in-person research team convenings (which will consist of personnel from four institutions), booking and arranging grant-related travel, drafting and formatting interim and final reports for USDA, tracking project expenditures, etc.

Minimum Requirements: 

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field Experience: Two years of experience.  Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of experience in grant or project administration.

Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
