GovCIO is currently hiring for a motivated and skilled Software Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in application development, particularly in creating intuitive and user-friendly dashboards. This role requires someone who can effectively engage with users, understand their needs, and develop tailored applications to meet those needs. The Journeyman Software Developer will also be responsible for training users on the applications, providing ongoing support, and resolving any technical issues that arise. Experience in JavaScript, HTML, and Python is essential, with preferred experience working on the Palantir platform.  This position will be in San Antonio, TX and will be an onsite position.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining web-based applications with an emphasis on creating interactive and visually engaging dashboards. The candidate will collaborate closely with users to gather requirements and translate them into functional applications. Key technologies include JavaScript, HTML, Python, and other relevant languages. Responsibilities also include providing training and technical support to end-users, troubleshooting software issues, and ensuring seamless application integration in partnership with other developers and IT professionals. The candidate will monitor, test, and optimize applications to enhance performance and user experience while documenting development processes and code. Staying updated on emerging technologies and software development best practices is crucial to contributing to the continuous improvement of the team.

Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications, with a focus on creating interactive and visually appealing dashboards.Engage with users to gather requirements, understand their needs, and translate them into functional applications.Develop and implement software solutions using JavaScript, HTML, Python, and other relevant technologies.Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they are proficient in using the applications and dashboards.Troubleshoot and resolve software issues in a timely and efficient manner, providing technical support as needed.Collaborate with other developers and IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and functionality of applications.Continuously monitor, test, and optimize applications to improve performance and user experience.Document development processes, code, and user instructions to ensure clear and accessible information for all stakeholders.Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in software development to contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s capabilities. Qualifications

High School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience)

Clearance Required: Secret

Required Skills and Experience

 

Experience in software development, with a focus on web application development.Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, and Python, with hands-on experience in developing web-based applications and dashboards.Experience in engaging with users, gathering requirements, and translating them into functional software solutions.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and fix software issues effectively.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and support users with varying levels of technical expertise.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to managing tasks and responsibilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Experience working with the Palantir platform and developing data-driven applications.

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
