Software Application Engineer
Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Software Application Engineer in Tewksbury, MA. This role is integral to our operations, focusing on implementing Software Configuration Management (SCM). The successful candidate will be involved in Software Development Library (SDL) operations or Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) operations, playing a pivotal part in our software development methodologies, hierarchical change control, baseline management, and version control. Responsibilities: • Efficiently implement software configuration management (SCM) as part of our software development operations. • Manage software identification, software builds, and software development environments. • Execute change control processes, manage the correlation between software products, and oversee off-line archival and retrieval procedures. • Implement hierarchical change control and manage change sets. • Develop and maintain automated information management systems and data dictionaries. • Design technical and management level reports, and manage software metrics. • Work on complex problems, requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors and exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies. • Frequently interact with customers and/or functional peer group managers, acting as a liaison between functional areas, other divisions, or units and customers. • Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to others in the team. • Train others, serving in a leadership role, and demonstrating complete mastery of the job. Requirements • Proven experience in Software Configuration Management • Strong customer service and communication skills • Excellent management and leadership abilities • Experience in training staff and implementing new procedures and policies • Ability to effectively plan and organize operations • Knowledge of research methodologies and design principles • Proficiency in using 'About Time' software or similar time management tools • Experience in liaising between different teams and departments • Understanding and implementation of industry best practices • Proficiency in metric reporting • Ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively • Strong coding and programming skills, including T-SQL • Knowledge of consumer electronics market trends • Familiarity with configuration management principles and tools • Awareness and adherence to HIPAA regulations • Demonstrated ability to implement new systems and procedures.
