What you need to know
+ This position has the flexibility of a hybrid remote option with two days in the TTI HQ office in Bryan, TX. This can be discussed further during the interview process.
+ The salary range for position is $52K - $75K. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to develop web applications for specific research projects. The person in this position will build and maintain medium-to-large scale, complex web applications for TTI sponsors and to provide programming/application support for TTI research tools. This position, under direction, performs complex and specialized software development support functions, such as troubleshooting, analysis, research, de-bugging, and problem-solving. Completes reports and summaries for management and users including project status reports, problem reports, and progress summaries. Additional duties may include development with the WordPress Content Management System (CMS). Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
Job Duties:
+ 65% - Designs complex web-based programs, program modifications, or applications. Develops specifications based on input from the customer and creates complex design documents.
+ 20% - Application and Systems Maintenance: Oversee the support and maintenance of the systems and applications. Oversee and perform security and software updates to systems, applications, and plugins. Coordinate and resolve ad hoc requests for maintenance support. Provide guidance, projects and research duties to any employees that are tasked to assist with maintenance.
+ 10% - Project Management: Lead regular sponsor and team project meetings. Create timelines, estimates, scopes for project proposals and agreements, and other project documentation. Work closely with the project team to determine project progress and budget. Report status and manage sponsor expectations.
+ 4% - Assists project leader with developing work plans and time schedules for projects including outlining phases, identifying personnel, and computing equipment requirements.
+ 1% - Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Three years related work experience in web applications development.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Experience developing JavaScript web applications.
+ Experience in web development, production, and maintenance.
+ Experience in PHP.
+ Experience with HTML and CSS; including mobile/responsive web design techniques.
+ Proficiency with version control systems such as git.
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Preferred Education:
+ Masters degree in related field.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Proficiency developing JavaScript web applications including with jQuery and other libraries such as Angular, Vue, React, etc.
+ Proficiency with WordPress development and best-practice techniques.
+ Proficiency with Tableau.
+ Proficiency with map libraries such as Leaflet and Geospatial data formats such as GeoJSON.
+ Proficiency with PHP and Laravel.
+ Experience developing applications to federal web accessibility standards.
