Salary: $5,186.75 - $9,129.08 per month commensurate with experience. Job Description Summary: The Software Applications Developer Ill is to perform systems analysis and programming for Financial Accounting Management Information System (FAMIS) Services. The scope of the position involves producing outlines which can be used to develop programs for computer applications, writing programs for the more complex problems, and analyzing and documenting overall system concepts. Responsibilities:- Program difficult FAMIS modules and interfaces.- Prepare specifications suitable for translation into programs, design files and record formats and determine methods for data file manipulation for the application.- Develop logic for system flow and implement and refine module.- Provide quality assurance and guidance to programmers to develop skills and ensure system standards are adhered to, both programming standards and standards within the application.- Write and maintain efficient and effective database procedures in Transact-SOL.- Provide support to production control staff and FAMIS staff members.- Prepare user documentation and provide training to clients and FAMIS staff in how to use the system/modifications.- Develop and monitor schedules for implementation and delivery of software systems.- Meet with users in determining automation specifications for very complex systems or portions of systems for FAMIS.- Follow policies, procedures and standards. Recommend changes and system modifications.- Professional development. Read and research job-related technology and security changes.- Attend seminars, conferences, educational courses, etc. to develop and grow technical and professional skills.- Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or business related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Five years of business-oriented application development/support experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Programming skills in one or more object-oriented languages (e.g. C#, ASP.NET). - Database development with SOL Server or other relational databases. - Experience with Intergrated Development Environments and service tools (e.g. Visual Studio, Blazor. Azure DevOps and GIT). - Experience with scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, JavaScript). - Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to meet with users to gather and document system requirements. - Occasional work outside scheduled hours. - Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Qualifications: - Programming skills in one or more business-oriented (e.g. COBOL, Fortran, Natural Adabas).
