Job Title: Software Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to develop a future foundational architecture for use across all product lines. This architecture will transition towards a service-oriented architecture (SOA) with a container deployment and orchestration system.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop a comprehensive design for a container orchestration system to manage containerized services.Ensure seamless integration with cloud-based simulation and testing environments to enable cloud-native development and verification.Evaluate existing requirements of the Deployment and Orchestration system to identify potential challenges, gaps, or suggested modifications.Identify use cases for both on-vehicle and cloud-based container management.Document functional and non-functional requirements.Evaluate proposed architecture for the container orchestration system to support both on-vehicle and cloud environments.Specify and evaluate orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, and justify the choice based on project requirements and desired security posture.Provide comprehensive documentation of the system design, including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and deployment guidelines.Attend regular project review meetings to present design progress and gather feedback from stakeholders.Incorporate feedback into the design to ensure alignment with project goals.Essential SkillsStrong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Linux, and Linux kernel.Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented design (OOAD).Experience in designing container orchestration systems.Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and vehicle systems.Strong understanding of cloud integration and deployment strategies.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with Embedded Linux.Ability to create supporting documentation such as design documents, architecture diagrams, test procedures, and reports.Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to professionally support periodic communication to management and technical teams.Experience with Agile Scrum development methodologies and common workflow tools like GIT and Jira.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.Experience in the off-highway heavy machinery, automotive, or industrial control industry.Experience designing software for a distributed network for CAN or Ethernet communication.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00
