Software Automation and Operations Engineer

What Is the Opportunity?
The Technology and Innovation segment of the Siemens Digital Industries Software Division requires an experienced and self-motivated engineer. This position will work in the “Common Development Platform Enablement” group. Your primary focus will be to maintain and support a GitLab installation. The secondary focus will be working with other CDE members on migrating development teams onto modern SCM and CICD technologies. You will work closely with team members and other engineering business segments to migrate and optimize the adoption of a common development environment for all software engineering functions.  The program will systematically move product development teams from source code management systems such as Perforce, Subversion, Bitbucket and many others into a GitLab based environment.  The goal is for each product team to fully embrace modern SCM and CICD methods.  


What Will You Do?

Support, maintain, and monitor a GitLab installation for a high-priority effort within DISW. This is a high-visibility project where uptime and stability are critical to the success of the business.Work with development teams to develop and implement automation to improve build stability and reliabilityIdentify opportunities where existing automation can be leveraged and facilitate its adoption across the product development teams and helps define new automation solutions that could become highly leveraged, partnering with other teams within Technical Operations to build the automated solutions.Interact with customers to achieve efficient, effective results.Prioritize based on value to the business.

What is a Must Have?

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, requiredThree years of experience as a software developer

The salary range for this position is $82,900 to $149,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.  Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
