Lumentum is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Software Automation Test Engineer (Co-op/Intern) to join the R&D Design Verification Testing (DVT) team in the Networking Platform based in Ottawa, Ontario.

Contributing to the ongoing development of automated solutions for our next generation optical switches, amplifiers and circuit packs;Collecting and analyzing manufacturing data to improve product performance and quality;Solving complex technical problems;Working in close collaboration with the Optical, Hardware, Software, and Firmware R&D teams;Analyzing and characterizing device failures; and,Improving the quality and robustness of our products.What experience will allow you the greatest success in this role?
A craving to succeed and to do things right the first time;Strong object-oriented software design and implementation (any language);Strong problem-solving skills;Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and,2+ years towards a degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science or equivalent.The following qualifications are an asset:
Experience with Visual Studio 2013+ (VB.NET or C#), XML, Python, Perl and/or TCL shell scripts;Experience in instrumentation and automation;Understanding of optical systems; and,Experience with optical instruments and optical fibers.To be considered for this opportunity…
