PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $110,900.00-$135,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $86,100.00 - $160,300.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage.  Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance.  We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees.  Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan.  Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. As a Software Developer at BECU, you’ll be a vital contributor to our software development lifecycle, designing and delivering high-quality solutions that support business objectives. Your expertise in coding, testing, and debugging will drive impactful features and enhancements, while your mentorship of junior developers will foster a collaborative and innovative environment. You’ll work closely with technical leaders and analysts to build enterprise-class software solutions that advance BECU’s mission.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, you have the flexibility to either work remotely or come into our HQ to enjoy a collaborative and inclusive environment. For those outside of Washington but in one of our supported states, you can also enjoy the convenience of remote work, contributing from the comfort of your home.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Develop Robust Solutions: Create prototypes, proofs of concept, and high-quality software solutions by combining your technical expertise with a strong understanding of design principles throughout the software development lifecycle.Collaborate on Design and Strategy: Participate in discussions with architects and technical leaders to define the team’s technology roadmap and vision, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Enhance and Optimize Code: Identify areas for improvement in existing code, implement enhancements, and review junior developers’ work for adherence to standards, style, and consistency.Drive Automation: Self-direct to automate and improve business processes and interactions, contributing to more efficient workflows.Deliver Scalable and Secure Software: Write and maintain software that meets scalability and security standards, utilizing your expertise in Test Driven Development to ensure quality.Support Deployments: Create and manage continuous integration builds and deployment pipelines, providing on-call support for unexpected release issues when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.Minimum two years of experience designing software and writing production code in a team environment.Experience delivering scalable solutions in multiple programming languages and technical environments.Expertise in SOLID design principles, Object-Oriented Programming, and Design.Proficiency in cloud technologies, including .NET, C#.Knowledge of open-source technologies and platforms, including Linux/bash.Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery systems and tools, such as Azure DevOps Services, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TeamCity.Proficiency in Test Driven Development concepts, methods, and tools, with experience in unit testing.Proficiency in using Git for code reviews, pull requests, and adherence to branching standards, such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with building/deployment pipelines in YAML.Familiarity with static code analysis tools to address and correct secure coding flaws.Understanding of relational and non-relational data modeling and data analysis.Proven ability to remain current with emerging technologies and apply them effectively.Proficient verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts.
