General position summary:

The Software Developer will be part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise grade software systems utilizing the enterprise reference architecture. This position is for a mid-level .Net full-stack developer with some previous experience building cloud-based systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web- and desktop-based business applications built on approved technologies.Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.Package and support deployment of releases.Work with teammates in the migration of legacy applications to current approved technologies.Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications.Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.Provide third-level support to business users.Research and evaluate a variety of software products

Core Competencies:

Proficient with Microsoft .NET development using C#In depth knowledge and experience with core Microsoft .Net technologies including: LINQ, MVC, Web API, EF and/or DapperExperience with front end development frameworks such as Angular, React, jQueryExperience using KendoUIExperience designing and implementing REST based APIsKnowledge of security protocols and frameworks such as OAuth2 and OidcExperience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform or similar cloud platformExperience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments (Git preferred)Experience writing/troubleshooting complex SQL queries and stored proceduresExperience with SQL Reporting and Integration ServicesExperience with relational Database ModelingExperience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and ScrumExperience with multi-threading and concurrencyExperience with debugging, performance profiling, and optimizationExperience with database performance tuning and query optimizationComprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theoriesExperience with developing automated testsInternally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environmentStrong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders; strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processesComfortable with integrating and developing in both legacy and green field systems

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Operations preferred; or equivalent from college or technical school; or 3 years related experience and/or training developing web-based applications; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
