Aplin has partnered with an exceptional client based out of Spring bank, just outside of Calgary! They are looking for a skilled and motivated Software Engineer/Developer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in software development and a passion for innovation. As they prepare to commercially launch their software product, they seek an entrepreneurial individual ready to hit the ground running and make meaningful contributions.

Key Responsibilities:Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.Develop, write, and maintain clean, efficient, high-quality code that follows best practices.Break down major tasks into manageable components for effective execution.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust software solutions.Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.Deploy and manage applications in production environments.Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade legacy software to optimize performance and resolve issues.Use version control software for efficient code management.Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.5–10 years of professional experience in software development.Proficiency in C++ (preferably C++03/C++11 standard).Strong knowledge of Python 2/3.Experience with PostgreSQL.Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of current OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology.Experience with machine learning and generative AI.Understanding of how interpreted languages work under the hood.Familiarity with Civil Engineering/Cost Estimation is a plus.Experience with AWS for cloud-related activities.
