Experience developing and using relational databases; ideally MySQL/MariaDB.
Experience developing and using APIs that conform to standard REST principles.
Experience working with non-technical clients to develop project specifications, developing estimates, project planning, and project management; ideally with Jira.
Knowledge of standard coding practices and processes using software repositories for development and deployment; ideally with Git, GitHub, and Microsoft Azure.
Job Description:
The Web Development (WebDev) team in Information Technology Services (ITS) works with campus partners to develop and maintain web-based business applications and manage websites. The individual in this position will design, analyze, develop, implement, and maintain moderate to complex applications. They will consult with and advise clients on the best practices for developing web-based business applications of a medium-to-large size. They will work with a team of full-time developers and manage 2-3 student employees.
Examples of Duties
+ Consult with non-technical end users to define and document specifications and scope of projects.
+ Conduct a variety of software development tasks including program design, program coding, debugging, and documentation for software/systems and applications programs.
+ Develop detailed system-design specifications to meet defined requirements.
+ Modify, maintain, troubleshoot, and support existing web applications.
+ Develop new software services, databases, and application systems.
+ Write Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to bridge between systems.
+ Work on assignments that are generally of a moderately difficult technical nature and may involve leadership responsibilities for application system components.
+ Provide directions to a small group of student developers or support personnel.
