The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and now a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

As a member of the developers group providing strategic solutions and consulting on Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) solutions to support the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) of the semiconductor plant in Penang, your daily tasks will include:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specificationsProvide expert advice and strategic consulting on CIM solutions to optimize manufacturing processesConduct regular assessments and audits of current systems to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategic solutionsDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation of CIM solutions, including design specifications, user manuals, and best practicesConduct training sessions and workshops for team members and stakeholders to share knowledge and ensure effective use of CIM solutionsAnalyze manufacturing workflows and processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficienciesDesign and implement CIM solutions that enhance the efficiency and productivity of manufacturing operationsMonitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions to ensure they meet the desired objectivesContinuously explore and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to drive innovation in manufacturing processesPropose and implement improvements to existing CIM solutions to enhance their functionality and performanceWork closely with other developers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of CIM solutions with MES and other systemsProvide ongoing support and maintenance for existing CIM solutions, addressing any issues or bugs that ariseRespond promptly to user inquiries and provide technical assistance as needed

QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in a related fieldBachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Technology or equivalentGood communication skills (Verbal and Written) especially in meetings and reviews with all levels and departmentsAble to work in an intercultural teamStrong interest in modern technologies, agile mindset and ability to work under pressureReliability and flexibility to work in a pioneer teamTechnical expertise in a modern MES system landscape(R2R/SPC/FDC/RMS/RTD/DWH, etc.) and advanced knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing are desirableConception of the change management process / system (workflow, change recognizability)Knowledge of programming language like C++, JavaOracle DB & noSQL DBSoftware Configuration Management, Build systems and version controlStructured and independent way of working, analytical skillsWillingness to take over responsibilityExperience with project management tools and processes (e.g., Confluence, Jira)Fluent in English (written and spoken), German skills are a plus
