Job Seekers, Please send resumes to resumes@hireitpeople.com The Iowa DOT is seeking a Software Developer/Programmer who, using ASP.NET, can develop web forms and code that automates various permit processes for Iowa DOT.
Experience in web technologies (i.e HTML, Javascript, jQuery..etc) is required.
The Software Developers/Programmers will communicate effectively and interact in a professional manner with Developers/Programmers, Analysts, and Business Unit staff. 
A majority of the work will be analyzing work flow processes and heads down coding and testing of the developed logic to produce the desired results.  Knowledge and developer/programmer experience in ASP.NET and Object Oriented development is essential, as is the ability to clearly communicate and work well with others. 
VB.Net or C#.Net is required.  The back end is encapsuled in the middleware.  Most of the work will be front end development.  There is no back end work required for this position.  
Knowledge, skill, and experience with SQL, 2- Oracle PL/SQL, and mobile application development are pluses.
The candidate must be able to complete tasks/projects in a timely manner, without prompting.  The candidate must continuously review their own work to ensure quality and create professional, thorough, error-free work that meets or exceeds DOT IT staff’s expectations.   
The candidate must conduct their own testing and delivery a quality work product.  The candidate will be working on a team of developers but will take direction from the tech lead and project manager.  
A successful candidate will be engaged in future projects and has the potential to be extended up to 2 to 3 years.
SDP411 or more years of experience.  These consultants are recognized as top professionals in their chosen field and may be considered "Guru" subject-matter experts in IT Professional Services.  Individuals possess multiple years of experience and are extremely competent and will typically hold advanced education degrees or certifications such as a Microsoft Certified Programmer Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Project Manager Professional (PMP).  *These advanced degrees and certifications may substitute, at the sole discretion of the State, for experience at this skill set level, and for this skill set level only.  They have worked on multiple critical projects; have demonstrated the judgment to plan and accomplish goals; perform a variety of complicated tasks, and may lead and direct the work of others. This expert may report directly to Director or CIO level management; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
