As a Software Developer supporting the Government, you will be responsible for designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging complex software products, or making significant enhancements to existing software.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging complex new software products, or making significant enhancements to existing softwareIdentifying root causes and resolving issuesAnalyzing and troubleshooting extremely complex software problems and providing solutions using the latest technologiesIntegrating new software and web products with existing software and web applications in order to improve the functionality or design of the systemTest software development methodology in an agile environment.Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.Analyses and collaborates cross-functionally with data scientists, analyst, project managers and other engineersTroubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issues.Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization’s capabilitiesWhat you’ll need:
Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI polyEducation: Bachelor of Science Degree, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experienceMust meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security Minimum of 10 years current and related software development experienceHands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable data platforms, with experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science and data productsStrong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable solutions that can manage large data setsHands-on experience and is familiar with one or more of the following software/tools:Build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etcModern programming languages like Java, Python, Scala etcBuilding APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etcElasticsearch and relational databasesHands-on experience with distributed computing systems: Hadoop, Elastic, Spark, EMR, Databricks, or other Knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies: EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, VPC, ELBKnowledge of servers operating systems: Linux, Windows Strong problem-solving skills Ability to comprehend database methodologies Focus on continual process improvement with a proactive approach to problem solving Ability to follow directions and finish taskingsPassion for continuous improvement and innovationExcellent verbal and written communication skills
