We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who will contribute to the development, enhancement, maintenance and support of GM research data validation, data delivery and API applications. This is an opportunity to work within a very strong development team and help to develop challenging new products in the financial space using cutting edge technology.

What you will be responsible for

As a Software Development Engineer you will

Work independently to develop, test, and debug software enhancements and solutions within the business and technical problem domainsDevelop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects on cloud computing using Python, Java, Spring boot, Apache Spark, SQL and  similar frameworks.Designing applications and handling them independently.Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high quality end productParticipate in code reviewsActively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectivesTriage production issues by reviewing code and logs as needed and come up with solutions

What we value

Development using Python, JavaExperience with distributed systems, webservices and microservices architecture and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).Experience with messaging and event driven architectureExperience with API development

Education & Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of software development experience , proficient in developing multi-tier solutionsExperience in micro-services architecture and understanding of cloud computing and distributed systems is highly desirableBS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent fieldKnowledgeable of commercial software developmentProfessional Java/Python  development experienceAbility to analyze business requirements and develop solutions to the business needsStrong communication skills(verbal and written), self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly responsible.Strong collaboration skills, working with multiple teams in various locations in an agile environment.
