We are looking for exceptional software engineers to build the next generation of Account Registration and Account management tools these advertisers depend on to manage advertising efforts across multiple ad products in the Amazon Advertising portfolio. As part of the Demand Tech and Ads Core Services organization our team focuses on empowering current and future advertisers to deliver simple, intuitive solutions for helping them grow their reach and sales.
This important work requires that we build robust, highly available systems that scale massively to ensure our advertisers can enhance discoverability for all the products they sell online and connect with customers on Amazon anywhere in the world. We are increasingly focused on helping our advertisers reach new markets and build a strong brand presence which means we must think globally and be strategic about how we build our software to operate 24/7/365 in over 20 countries.
Key job responsibilities
As an L5 Software Development Engineer on our team, you'll be at the forefront of developing next-generation Advertiser Registration and Account Management systems, pushing boundaries in terms of scale, data processing, and real-time propagation. This will involve architecture the data model for the advertising account as well as the advertising accounts registration process. These 2 initiatives will drive the re-architecture of Amazon Ads' entire demand side platform. You'll build Tier-1 services handling millions of requests daily while maintaining millisecond response latencies and meeting strict SLA requirements. Our team uses the latest AWS products and services to solve our problems including but not limited to: ECS, Fargate, EC2, Lambda, Kinesis, Elastic Search, Dynamo DB, SQS, SNS, Cloud watch, CDK, Cloud Formation and many more.

About the team
Our team manages the end-to-end lifecycle of Advertiser Account Management including Registration and granular Access Control. We are working on the next-generation Advertiser Registration and Account Management akin to AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) service. The systems are pushing boundaries in terms of scale of storage, data processing and real-time propagation.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
