Software Development Engineer, Kindle

The Software Engineer will contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support of C++, TypeScript and React code across multiple digital surfaces for Kindle Readers and Applications.​


Key job responsibilities
As part of this role you will be:

- Responsible for the architecture of software solutions, working with and improving on current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, and the development of major routines and utilities.
- Designing and Building new features that are highly performant.
- Preparing technical requirements and software design specifications.
- Insisting on best practices for software development and documentation, making sure designs meet requirements, and delivering high quality software on tight schedules.

A day in the life
This hands-on coding position will actively involve you in utilizing your engineering capabilities and technical expertise in software development. You'll gain valuable experience in effectively planning, organizing, and executing software development projects within a dynamic environment.

Key job responsibilities
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
