Micron Assembly and Test is filled with industry leading technology and proprietary product testing capabilities unique to Micron. The process continually evolves to innovate for future scalability. As an IT Software Engineer at Micron you will develop, maintain, and support manufacturing-class applications relevant to manufacturing execution systems, automation, and data. Create quality software and work directly within an Agile team on manufacturing-critical applications that help to run Micron’s world-wide manufacturing Assembly and Test environment. Provide modern solutions that build innovative business value while mitigating risks to prevent lost factory movements using quality-based methods. Integrate 3rd party software solutions into the existing Micron Manufacturing environment.

Education, Skills, and Proficiencies 
Required 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in computer science or related field of study 

Minimum of 3 years of demonstratable Software Development Experience  

The ability to work as part of a team in an agile environment across multiple geographies 

Proficiency of at least one object oriented compiled language such as C#, C++ or Java 

Experience with one or more scripted languages (Python, PERL, etc.) 

Experience with relational SQL databases (MSSQL, MySQL) 

Experience with modern web technologies and services (REST APIs, Angular, JavaScript) 

Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and Rest APIs 

Understanding of cloud technologies (Azure) and containers (OpenShift, Docker) 

Experience with release pipelines (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) 

Experience with DevOps practices and source code management systems such as Git 

Basic familiarization and navigation skills with Linux 

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze business needs to understand the solution 

Collaborate with agile team members, solution architects, scrum masters, and project managers to refine customer requirements and test cases 

Analyze the software solution options 

Consult with the IT enterprise and solution architects to align strategy to the IT roadmap 

Review options with the customer to set course on the best solution 

Collaborate with the project manager and scrum master to determine general complexity and delivery time 

Participate in sprint planning to plan out sprint deliverables and tasks 

Follow the established software development process to deliver solutions 

Implement the software solution applying Azure DevOps and related tools 

Participate in daily stand-ups, periodic demos, and other agile ceremonies 

Participate with end users in integration and user acceptance testing 

Complete unit testing, deployment pipelines and release plans 

Provide 24x7 escalation support for software issues 

Occasionally participate in on-call responsibilities to help resolve software system issues when they arise at inopportune times 

Investigate and resolve issues independently and with other teams
