Key job responsibilities We are looking for a skilled software developer to design and deliver scalable systems for Kindle Direct Publishing, the home for authors to self-publish their books. Our team provides flexibility with both frontend and backend opportunities and applicants should expect to tackle unique challenges in orchestrating the ingestion, quality checks, and availability of books in the Amazon store. Basic Qualifications Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design Bachelor's degree in computer science related fields OR 1+ years equivalent experience in software development Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Demonstrable professional experience in software development. Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis. Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java or Python Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering software in a service oriented architecture Comfortable with modern SDLC processes: version control, agile development, code reviews, test-driven development, continuous deployment Experience with React, Node JS or Python Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $99,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $200,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
