Job Title: Software Development Engineer
Job Description

This position is for a role on the WIFI side, supporting and developing software and hardware modules, IVI Nodes, and the Sync system. These areas of the vehicle use Android and are supported by the Wifi on the TCU. This team focuses on both Embedded Software and C++/Android, with a current need on the C++/Android side. The team works in Agile, holding daily standups with the entire development and test team to discuss accomplishments and upcoming tasks. The individual in this role will be assigned defects and feature development tasks, such as JIRAs, to work on areas with imminent releases or deadlines. Initial setup of hardware and processes will be required.

ResponsibilitiesSupport and develop software and hardware modules, IVI Nodes, and the Sync system.Work on embedded software and C++/Android development.Participate in Agile methodologies, including daily standups.Handle defect assignments and feature development tasks like JIRAs.Set up hardware and establish processes.Essential Skills5+ years of experience with Android architecture and build system (AOSP), including compiling code.Experience with S-AIDL.Programming in C++ (versions 14 and 17).Experience with wireless connectivity (WIFI or Bluetooth) or networking.Experience with embedded software development.Experience with build systems, source control systems (GitHub), and defect tracking systems (JIRA).Experience with multi-thread and/or concurrent systems.Experience with Linux or QNX.POSIX compliance.Additional Skills & QualificationsTest Driven Development.Experience with adding Code Coverage.Adaptive Autosar.Automotive experience.Development tools: Repo Make, GCC, GDB, Kotlin, TCP/IP, Wireshark, TCPDump, reviewing captures.Experience with Wi-Fi or other networking protocols.Work Environment

The candidate can work on site from either Ottawa, Waterloo, or Oakville. Most of the team is based in Ottawa, with a smaller presence in Waterloo. The role requires working on site five times per week. The work environment supports collaboration and teamwork, with an emphasis on culture fit to ensure a harmonious work atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $65.00
