Software Development Engineer II, Amazon Monitoring and Observability
As a Software Engineer on the team you will own significant portions of the product and will have influence on our strategy by helping define the next wave of product features and system architecture. There will be opportunities for learning and growth on the team, there will be access to Sr Engineers and PEs, and SDEs have the opportunity to mentor and coach junior engineers on the team. On a typical day, our software engineers might deep dive to root cause a customer issue, release the latest new feature, consult with the top engineers at Amazon, or discuss radical new approaches to building and operating at AWS. This is a unique opportunity to participate in building a new service to a successful launch, if you are not already one. In this role, you will be positioning as a thought leader in related projects by collaborating and influencing the community and contributing to projects.

Amazon is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics

Key job responsibilities
As part of the Topology team, you will help build the source of truth data store to help represent services and resources across all of AWS used by both external and internal customers powering GenAI, triage, diagnostics, and troubleshooting usecases. This will span three pillars:
(1) Generic run-time topology data store to enable the following use-cases:
All-way lookups by key attributes of one entity
Hosted-in relationships
Application membership
Enumerations with filters (probably start with full scan)
(2) Pulse Generic Runtime Topology APIs
APIs to integrate partner teams across AWS enabling general and GenAI usecases
(3) Pulse Generic Runtime Topology Ingestion Path
Integration with external data sources to augment our topology relationship data stores
