In this role, you will:
Design, develop, debug, and modify web services for Insurance micro-services.Write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, modular with good naming conventions. You will also use software frameworks to write simpler code.Lead the end-to-end product life cycle from mid to large size projects: Design, development, testing, deployment, and providing operational excellence and support.Contribute to advancing the team's design methodology and quality programming practices and mentor junior team members to adapt standard methodologies.Spot areas of inefficiency in code or systems operation and offer suggestions for improvements.Team up with peers across the organization to build an understanding of cross dependencies and shared problem-solving.Assist with a whole systems approach to analyzing issues by ensuring all components (structure, people, process, and technology) are identified and accounted for.Experience and qualifications:
5+ years of experience in software development, especially in a highly complex, platform/multi-service/multi-application environment. Also owning the operation of such an environment.Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related technical fields.Ability to comfortably work in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, and multi-matrix environmentAbility to proactively identify upcoming risks, issues, and bottlenecks and resolve issues that sometimes cross departmental boundariesAbility to estimate, schedule, and manage/track multiple concurrent projectsStrong oral and written communication skills. Excellent time management, resource management, and planning skillsExcellent coding skills in frontend technologies like ReactJS, Angular JS.Familiarity working around Apache Tomcat, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Docker, GradleExperience using code versioning tools for e.g. GitAccommodation requests
