The role will be part of Wealth Asset Management Engineering (WAME) which is part of Schwab Technology Services (STS). WAME is aligned to support both the technology needs of Schwab Asset Management and Wealth Asset Management across the broader Schwab organization. The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will be an integral member of the Wealth Asset Management Engineering (WAME) Team that is responsible for developing and testing solutions that support WAM Web Disclosure teams. In addition, the role will support the ongoing growth and scalability of WAM Engineering Test Engineering practices. The role will report to the Senior Manager of Software Development and Engineering.

What you'll do:

This position will provide technical expertise to the WAME Technology team and is responsible for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of test solutions for our application platforms.

 

The individual in this role will design and develop automated Test and QA solutions based on business requirements using specialized domain knowledge and developed business expertise. They will be responsible to properly test and validate the accuracy of new functionality and data before said features are deployed to production. Additionally, they will contribute to building an integration testing framework across other WAME technology platforms to drive consistency in software development and testing.

 

This individual will also be a key player in the implementation and integration of modern applications that support the overall business capabilities and build highly scalable cloud applications that enable future business growth. In addition to being a strong technical contributor, part of the role will involve junior QA engineers and collaborating across multiple teams and internal organizations.

This role focuses on designing and implementing test cases and specifications using automation, and ensuring software built is testable, and contributing to our overall system and service design architecture.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

5+ years hands of experience as senior test engineer building automation test suits and framework using Python, Java or C#2+ years of experience working with RESTful APIs3+ years of experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologiesStrong hands-on experience with Automation Framework design and developmentAbility to work closely with developers, product owners and other test teams to ensure the quality of the owned componentsExperience or knowledge of CI/CDProven record of delivering technology solutions within agreed upon timeframesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

An advanced degree in Information management, Computer Science, and/or other professional certifications are a plusKnowledge of financial and investment products Experience or knowledge of database design and development (SQL and NoSQL).Experience or knowledge with cloud infrastructure such as Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure, or GCP
