Although video on demand is on the rise, the global viewing hours weighs in favor of live or scheduled TV and OTT linear streaming is predicted to grow by 64% in next two years. It is Day 1 for the linear TV experience on Prime Video. Our team is responsible for Prime Video Linear experiences across iOS, Android and Fire TV customer experiences. What you’ll do: • Own architecture and feature development for our Android/Fire TV apps and middle-tier web services. The tech stack for Android is Java/Kotlin. The backend stack is also in Java, Kotlin, AWS services. • Partner with other engineers to ideate, design, and build scalable software solutions. • Drive test and release automations to increase system reliability and speed to market. • Collaborate with product managers to influence decisions that deliver customer value. • Shape the future of Amazon’s mobile video platform. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
