Your Role at Baxter

The responsibilities of the Software Engineer are varied and may include, but are not limited to, testing, documenting, developing, and supporting Baxter software products.  This person will be responsible for using their expanding knowledge of the assigned product line to efficiently complete tasks related to interfacing to various medical devices for data extraction and routing.  This includes learning the operation of new patient monitoring devices, testing full functionality of those devices, thorough documentation of findings, programming interface software based on the device protocols, and supporting the systems built.  Comfort with, and interest in, manual operation of mechanical devices is a large component of this role.  The role will also involve coordinating and executing with the greater Baxter R&D and Services teams to provide superior customer service during technical support escalations during, and outside, normal business hours.

What you'll be doing

Passion for networked systems, programming, and learning new subject matter;Knowledge of C# and JavaScript languages;Knowledge of .NET framework runtime and library components;Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2016 and newer) setup and management;Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and newer);Mechanical and/or computer hardware experience;Understanding of the following:LAN/WAN concepts such as DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP,Network routing and switching in relation to application connectivity needs,Network sniffing and packet analyzing,VPN and related GUI/web-portal based administrative tools,Active Directory and domain policies,VMWare administration,Citrix XenApp application configuration;Extreme attention to detail as applied to written documentation;Strong verbal comprehension and direction following capabilities;Aptitude for quickly learning new and advanced concepts in the mechanical and software spaces;Professionalism during both verbal and written interpersonal communication;Experience in customer service and technical support functions;Capability to consistently exercise sound judgment during independent work;Ability to show up for work in the Jupiter, FL office daily.

What you'll bring

Bachelor’s Degree (or higher);1-2 years of software testing and/or development experience;1-2 years of documentation experience;Knowledge of advanced network and cybersecurity concepts, and well-known products, a big plus.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $72,000 to $99,000 and also includes an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
