Software Engineer – Peripheral Focused Ultrasound
Job Description SummaryPeripheral Focused Ultrasound (PFUS) is a novel & emerging technology that leverages ultrasound to specifically regulate metabolic function in the body to support the treatment of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and obesity. The Software Engineer position is a key software development role on this Ultrasound team focused on bringing disruptive and innovative Ultrasound technology to market. You will be responsible for the software development of this emerging product line, starting with prototype development and moving in to new product development through the course of the program. The position will provide many interesting technical challenges and as much responsibility as you can handle.

Essential Responsibilities

Define, develop, and evolve software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructureWork with a cross functional team of engineers, scientists and applications experts to translate business segment application needs that demand new reconstruction capabilities into component-level requirementsTranslate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standardsDesign and implement solutions to complex data management and distributed processing software problems in the reconstruction platform domain in accordance with established software development practices and processes.Plan and perform integration activities at component, sub-system and system levels.  Document designs and verification activities; perform component & subsystem level verifications, participate in system level verifications and validations as necessary.Work with product line leaders and architects to develop multi generation software technology plansApply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing TechniquesWrite code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum years of experience 4 years or 10 years software development experience

Desired Technical Expertise

Master's Degree/ PHD in Computer ScienceDemonstrated experience with development of medical device software Experience in software platform, advanced applications, user-interface design and/or systems engineering especially in the healthcareExperience with Windows and Unix / Linux based programmingDemonstrated expertise with MATLAB or equivalent scientific modeling tools & packagesExperience with Parallel computing concepts and tools - MPI, OpenMPDemonstrated experience with development of medical device software Experience in software platform, advanced applications, user-interface design and/or systems engineering especially in the healthcareExperience with Windows and Unix / Linux based programmingDemonstrated expertise with MATLAB or equivalent scientific modeling tools & packagesExperience with Parallel computing concepts and tools - MPI, OpenMP
