eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in Portland, OR

Job Duties: Define, design, and implement highly scalable, resilient and performant distributed systems. Work throughout all phases of the software development life cycle independently as well as work jointly with other team members. Collaborate with architects, product management, engineering, QE, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions adherence to development goals and principles. Produce clear, well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews. Strictly follow Definition of Done (DoD) process for better quality by maintaining over 80%-unit test coverage and other release criteria standards. Be responsible for leading engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for an always-on 24x7 site. Develop software code and lead code review sessions. Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues in a very time critical environment. Identify and make recommendations to reduce software project risks. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered as a Software Engineer, or a related occupation.

Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable. Experience can be gained through academic coursework, scholastic achievement, or work experience.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
