EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. HUGHES is a leading provider of satellite products and services that recently announced disruptive in-flight entertainment and connectivity solutions for airlines. Hughes is at the forefront of satellite technology, offering innovative products and services.

Responsibilities:

Participate in discussions with stakeholders regarding requirements Participate in requirements analysis discussions, and formulate requirementsPlan, organize, and implement day-to-day activities by working closely with developers, architects, and technical release managersUnderstand complex business and functional requirements and develop solutions using Google Cloud PlatformsManage and Track bug fixes in JIRAAssist in creating, executing and maintaining test scripts Support different teams (such as System Integration Team, User Acceptance Team and Production) at Hughes to support feature/functions in the SDLC processGain working knowledge of Aero Program, which will enhance your effectiveness in this roleContribute to improving automation across various tasks in the End to End System/Application testing to enhance efficiency

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field5 total years of experience as a software engineer2+ years of experience in Python Programming2+ years of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Services (Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Big Query, Kubernetes etc.)2+ years of experience in Python, JavaScript, and other programming/scripting languages to develop solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with DevOps and SRE practicesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelinesUnderstanding of AI/ML concepts and librariesExperience with Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, and normalization principlesWorking knowledge of Enterprise level software systemsDemonstrated understanding of algorithms, data structures, and data modelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be capable of working under general directionKnowledge of MQTT, PUPPET ToolsKnowledge on Industry Standard IAM (like OKTA) for enterprise level software systemsExperience with JIRA/ConfluenceKnowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
