Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree in Digital Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Application Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Application Development using Java technologies including Hibernate, Java Server Faces; Microservices; Developing and implementing Spring and J2EE based MVC (Model-View Controller) framework for the application; Analysis, design, and development and testing phases of Software Development Life Cycle; SOAP and RESTful web services; Client scripting language and server-side scripting languages including JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, Node.js, and Angular.js; Typescript; Apache Tomcat; Using Maven as a building tool and WebLogic 12c server for the working environment of the project; Stash; Using performance monitoring tools including Dynatrace; Performing code reviews and improving the overall code coverage by adding additional tests using Junit, Jasmine, and Mockito framework; working on developing end-to-end code, including working on CSS; HTML5; GIT; Working with DevOps for production installs and fine-tuning the Jenkins build jobs; DB2; Windows; Linux; SQL; XML; JMS; Coordinating with different disciplines like SDL Tridion as and when required to improve productivity.
