Department OverviewThe Secure Products Group team provides mobile security solutions for all MSI devices as well as customer BYOD devices. The team seeks an innovative engineer to work on critical cyber security challenges associated with the deployment of mobile technology.

Cyber security challenges for mobility include both near-term engineering challenges as well as research challenges. This position requires solid understanding of threats to the mobile ecosystem and the ability to develop secure mobile solutions.
Job Description

The Software Engineer is responsible for analyzing, developing, designing, and maintaining software for the organization's products and systems. They handle the integration of software and hardware to ensure smooth operation and consistency. Additionally, they develop, validate, and test system structures and user documentation.

Motorola Solutions is looking for a Software Engineer with strong interests in:

Developing cutting edge secure digital communication solutions for Public Safety and First Responders.

Information Security practices and secure software development methodologies and techniques.

Secure protocols, key management, Public Key Infrastructure.

Mission critical feature development.

Candidates are expected to work in a team environment utilizing the latest industry standard agile practices for planning, implementing, and delivering products and services.

Desired Skills:

Team software development using Agile/SAFe practices.

Software virtualization practices and understanding of cloud based solutions.

Security concepts such as authentication, access control, authorization, cryptography, and least privilege.

Application or embedded programming experience.

Strong communication and problem solving skills.


Additional Qualified Skills:

One or more of the following skills: C/C++, C#, .NET Core, Java/Kotlin, Make, Bash, Linux app/driver development, Windows app/driver development, Python, Powershell.

Mobile application and/or platform development including Android and iOS.

Network Protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, UDP)

Knowledge of full-stack development with Spring boot and React.

Developing cloud based solutions in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plus/

Knowledge of GitHub, Kubernetes and Docker or other containerized solutions a plus.

Knowledge of Statistics, Gen AI and LLM a plus.


Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
